How many of you have hit a deer?

How many of you have hit a deer with your car in Ohio? Hubby has hit two in less than year (hopefully the deer from this morning at least got killed ). Do those deer whistles work? We have one vehicle with them and it has been deer-free but is that just coincidence? Anyone else have a vehicle that is deer-free that has those whistles on it? Stupid suicidal deer ...........

I had a deer hit me once on the top of 83 hill coming off of 410. I had a little red ford fiesta. It was a stick and it was the first day I got to drive it without my dad. I got to the top of the hill and saw the deer. I slammed on the breaks, stalled the car and the deer ran right into the drivers door and took off with my mirror in it's mouth. Had to get a new door and a new paint job. Stupid deer!
I've been lucky though... knock on wood!!

I think my hubby has a deer magnet built in! I haven't hit any yet ............. but I know they are out there .... just waiting.

You live in the heart of deer country,,cat..Not much you can do..Just make sure You have good insurance..

Easyrider, I'm thinking about putting one of those hay forks on the front of the silver jeep! At least it will skewer the deer and we can eat it later! Laughing

The damage done to the other jeep is over the deductible and the book value on the jeep is below the deductible. Hubby took a prybar to the wheelwell and got the tire free. Its driveable but bad ugly.

Once, and yes the little things you put on your car, does help. The trouble with them they get broke in the car wash.

Barkingdog ... thanks for the warning about the car wash. But no problem there! We let nature keep the jeep clean! LOL Having a filthy vehicle keeps people from parking by you and banging up your doors! The Attack-cat theory of dirty cars! Smile
