Did anyone attend the wings over coshocton event? I myself didnt go and i don't know of anyone who did either. I think an actual airshow would have done a lot better. I just don't see the sense of having the airshow and making it big and then just stopping. Just plain stupid.

I learned a while ago .... do not set aside more than about an hour for any event in Coshocton. Got disappointed too many times. We don't go to much anymore. They ruined the Civil War show. We may go to the apple butter festivel to get some cider and apple butter but that will be a trot through and get what we want and go home to enjoy it! The older I get the more anti-social I become! LOL

I'm thinking about going to the Swiss Festival this year and skip the fair. I have not been there since I was a kid. The only reason I go to the fair is to see people that I have not seen in a long time and give the Dems, and Reps, hell for the shape this country is in. I was at a tea party last week, and I asked thie guy running for congressman, and about the "Give Act", and he never heard of it. Sad that I know more than the people running for office.

But like you said, Coshocton's events are not what they use to be. I have not gone to any Roscoe events in many years. I liked Canal Days when they had everything around the court house.

I wonder how much it will cost this year to get in the fair? Did they up the price again? I don't know how so many people can pay the price to get in and than buy food. I wonder with all the job loss if there will be less people going? I loved it when you could go Friday nights and not have to pay to get in. Do they still have a day where seniors get in free? Or did they do any with this?

I'm not sure about the price of the fair. Fair food is wonderful but its just too expensive. I saw corndogs in Walmart the other day - the freezer section. I wonder if they are any good? They were pricey for a box of frozen weiners on a stick. But it might be a nice treat.

Plus I can't stand carnies ..... fairs seem to bring out the best in some people but the worst in others. I'm not in the mood for dealing with the worst of people and I'd hate to get removed from the fairgrounds for thumping a carny that looked crosseyed at my kids. I'm trying my best to avoid the fair. Pardon the nasty mood folks .... I have about twenty-five mosquitos bites and they are keeping me from sleeping and making me rather grumpy. They got my elbow, face, thumb, little finger and legs. I woke up at 2 am trying to rip my elbow off. I need sleep. How can something so small make you so miserable?

My mom told me how much it was to get in this year, but I forget what she said. (old age setting in...eeek!!) I do know that the fair doesn't start till October this year. Going to be cold and yucky probably! I myself hopes it rains everyday so I don't have to worry about telling the kids we can only go one day and we are not playing games or riding any rides that cost money. We are also sharing drinks which they hate too. One day they will understand....

The corn dogs at wal-mart are good. The only ones I'll eat.

For those bites...take a bar of soap and wet it, then rub it one the bites and let it dry. It'll work long enough for you to fall asleep atleast!

Thank you both for the itch help! I'm running out of skin on my elbow! I'll have to make up a batch of the anti-itch and sting remedy and keep it in the coop. So far this summer three out of four of us here have been stung by wasps and yellow jackets all of us got it in a weeks time. Hubby found and destroyed the wasp nest the day our daughter got stung three times - I got stung two days before. A few days later our son annoyed a yellow jacket and got it in the neck. We found their nest in the ground and they won't sting anyone else. Yesterday I found a bumble bee nest in the ground. Its by the swing so it'll have to go.

I'm with you Duskie on the fair and rain. We need the rain! The creek is running so low you can see rocks everywhere. And thank you for the input on the corndogs! I'm going to get some on the next Walmart adventure!
