don't know why you are getting attacked on this MC.......sun, rain sleet or snow, your patient goes on the cot, unless it is some dork who is playing games with the squad or already up walking all over the place, or refuses the cot.

if it was such a problem for the little lite weights, they should have called for help.......and too if they are so afraid of carrying a cot on snow/ice or whatever, I suggust they move to a climate without snow or ice.......I guess if its icy and they have a cardiac arrest they must just slide the cot to the ambulance Shocked

I recall when on EMS if we needed help we called for it........and too, I recall slipping on wet pavement or missing a step carrying a patient, but I had a grip on that cot and it didn't even tip......

ANd yes you leave the arms out of a conscious person. If in a code(cardiac arrest) we would strap the arms down to prevent the arms from falling off side the cot, to prevent injury or of an IV as in the arm, for the code, it helped keep your IV in.......

I've seen a lot of cots go in snow and ice, the older style and the newer ones..............end point..... your husband did not have to walk!!!

Thanks for the post, I never did call them to address this. I figured I would not get anywhere with it.

You probably should have called the EMS to complain. At least you would have gotten an explanation and saved some time.
